We Made It!

We all made it back to Nauta in one piece, safe and sound!  Probably the majority of everyone's stories will come from these past 6 days; we had quite the adventure along the river. Florida, the first village we visited was absolutely beautiful, except for the mosquitoes. The Pastor and the all the children welcomed us and taught us a wonderful Spanish song–something along the lines of flying like an eagle and jumping like a lamb.  I don't know what it all translates out to but we had a great time singing it multiple times a day.  We spent most of the time...

Adios Nauta, Hola River Villages

We've had a great past few days of ministry!  We finished up our children's program and now there's about 40 Peruvian children that know to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power!  We taught them about the Armor of God, David & Goliath, and Joshua and the battle of Jericho.  Saturday night, Patty, Baileigh, and Adam shared their testimonies in the neighboring church and then we all had a chance to pray over the people in the church including the pastor and his family!  It was a wonderful expierience!  Rachel and Adam led worship for our team a...

4 Days Into Ministry!

We are four days into ministry and having a blast! Yesterday was the first day of our kids program, and it was wonderful! From all the boys hanging on Adam to Robin teaching on the armor of God, it was a sight to behold. Thursday was Rachels birthday and she got to experience a real Peruvian birthday by having a raw egg cracked on her head, and we also had a delicious cake. This morning we were led to go visit a woman named Pati. She said she is very unhappy because she is treated poorly in her home by her childs father. She wants to move, but she cant until her son is finished with...

One Last Travel Day

Buenos dias! We are currently finishing up our debrief time and heading to the airport in a few hours to fly to Lima and then back to the states. The last twenty four hours have been a sweet time of fellowship, reflection and of course, tons of fun!! Yesterday we took the students to a surprise trip to a nature preserve/zoo and saw all the animals we didn´t get to see in the wild, like pygmy monkeys, tapirs, capyburas, and my personal favorite, the ocelot. It was super fun! Then we enjoyed one last peruvian lunch, and headed to a traditional artisan market to pick up some last minute...

Updates!!!

Hello friends and family of our Peruvian warriors! Yesterday we wrapped up our ministry time in Nauta and made the drive to our debrief location of the capitol of the jungle, Iquitos! Everyone was so overjoyed to have a cold shower, real beds, Chinese food for lunch and cereal for dinner. On Monday night our students had a really unique opportunity to meet up with the Real Life Peru team who had just come back from two months up river. After going to English class one last time, our students joined the Real Life team in worship. Dillon had  a great perspective on the whole experience...
